Short Description

WorkPac are seeking an experienced Surface Coordinator / Technical Specialist for a long-term opportunity at BRM. This position plays a critical role in coordinating surface operations, capital works, environmental maintenance activities, and infrastructure projects while supporting underground mining operations in a complex and dynamic environment.

What You Will Be Doing

You will be responsible for coordinating surface activities that support underground mining operations, ensuring maintenance, project, environmental, and operational requirements are delivered safely and effectively.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

- Coordinating daily surface operations and associated project activities
- Managing and overseeing surface maintenance, infrastructure, and capital works projects
- Supporting underground operations through effective planning and coordination
- Executing environmental maintenance and compliance-related work programs
- Coordinating contractors and internal stakeholders to achieve project outcomes
- Monitoring project schedules, budgets, and deliverables
- Providing technical and operational support across surface and underground functions
- Maintaining compliance with site safety, environmental, and operational standards




- Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and operational effectiveness
- Influencing operational outcomes and driving operational performance improvements

What You Will Need

- Previous experience in mining operations, project coordination, maintenance coordination, technical services, engineering support, or supervisory roles
- Strong understanding of surface and/or underground coal mining operations
- Experience coordinating maintenance, infrastructure, environmental, or capital project activities
- Demonstrated ability to influence operational outcomes and manage multiple stakeholders
- Robust background in safety, compliance, and operational requirements within mining environments
- Strong planning, communication, and organisational skills

Highly Regarded

- Candidates currently completing OCE competencies or training
- Previous experience working within BMA systems and processes
- Underground mining experience and competencies
- Engineering, technical, maintenance, or operational background
- Experience coordinating environmental maintenance programs
- Experience as a Surface Coordinator, Mining Supervisor, Technical Specialist, Project Coordinator, Maintenance Coordinator, or Mining Engineer
