About the Role:
Mater Dei College has the chance for a permanent Receptionist to become an integral part of the College’s Administrative Department, commencing in Term 4 or as soon as practicable.
We are seeking a proactive, friendly, bubbly, highly organised and detail-oriented individual who is committed to creating a welcoming and positive environment, ensuring that students, parents, staff and visitors of the College have a favourable experience.
The Receptionist will be in attendance from Monday’s to Friday’s, 8:00am to 4:00pm for 45 weeks per year (Term time plus 5 weeks worked over the school holiday period).
The Receptionist will be responsible for a variety of tasks that are inclusive of, but not limited to:
- Being the first point of contact for internal and external stakeholders.
- Greeting and assisting visitors by welcoming students, parents, teachers, and other visitors to the school, providing them with information, directions or assistance as needed.
- Answering and directing telephone calls to the appropriate staff member, take messages and maintain office change notifications.
- Providing administrative support to school staff, including photocopying, filing, data entry and other office tasks.
- Managing school-related financial transactions, maintaining and reconciling collection of money, including end of day reconciliation and banking.
- Maintaining an inventory of office supplies, ordering supplies when needed and ensuring office equipment is in working order.
About You:
The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate a high level of professionalism whilst supporting the Catholic ethos and values of the College.
You will
- Have demonstrated experience in a reception, administration, customer service or similar front-facing role.
- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, with the ability to provide a professional, welcoming and helpful first point of contact for students, parents, staff and visitors.
- Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, including qualified and confident telephone manners.
- Have strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and respond effectively in a busy and fast-paced workplace.
- Demonstrate a high level of accuracy and attention to detail when maintaining records, processing information and completing administrative tasks.
- Exercise discretion, professionalism and confidentiality when handling sensitive student, staff and College information.
- Be highly proficient in Microsoft Office applications, with experience working within a school, education or similarly regulated workplace is considered highly desirable.
