Where you'll be working

Based at Westmead Hospital, you’ll join the Research and Education Network (REN), a multidisciplinary team supporting research, education, innovation and commercialisation across Western Sydney Local Health District. Working closely with researchers, educators, clinicians and managers, you’ll help strengthen the systems and data capability underpinning research and education.

What You'll Be Doing You’ll bring your data management expertise to a diverse portfolio of research and education projects, designing reliable systems, supporting users and transforming complex data into meaningful outputs.

- Design, develop, maintain and manage project-specific databases in REDCap and similar platforms.
- Integrate and manage data from clinical records, patient-reported outcomes, surveys, laboratory and biobanking sources.
- Develop customised reporting and data extraction solutions to support analysis, research outputs and scientific publication.
- Maintain data quality, privacy, security and system integrity while partnering with IT on upgrades and integrations.




- Train and support researchers, educators and administrative staff, while developing policies and practices for effective database management.

How To Apply

- Extensive demonstrated experience in creating databases within and using the REDCap (Research Electronic Data Capture) software.
- Demonstrated experience in or understanding of a clinical research environment with a good knowledge of the ethical principles of research, and the privacy and confidentiality associated with research databases.
- Demonstrated experience in database design, development and management, including the ability to adapt software systems, including the ability to implement processes to ensure the coordination of data management, data integrity and quality.
- Demonstrated high level computer literacy including expert skills associated with maintaining a large clinical database and handling substantial complex datasets, software validation, quality assurance and reporting.
- Effective oral and written communication, interpersonal, negotiation and facilitation skills to work with senior analysts and programmers in Digital health Services, Medical Records and the eMR programmers,



database administrators and clinical researchers.
- Demonstrated experience with high level data validation and statistical analysis e.g. cataloguing, grouping, and analysis of statistics.
- Excellent interpersonal oral and written communication skills and demonstrated ability to present information in a matter understood by both technical and non-technical audience.
- Demonstrated strong organisational skills, ability to manage competing priorities and be flexible to change and a proven ability to work both independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
