Residential Cleaner – Supporting Home Care & Disability Clients A Place of Calm | Geelong & Surrounding Areas

Casual | $33.87 per hour | Monday to Friday – Daytime Hours A Place of Calm is looking for an experienced, reliable and caring person to join our residential cleaning team.

We support older adults, NDIS participants and people who may simply need some extra assistance to maintain their home and independence.

This is primarily a residential cleaning role, with some light home care and home management tasks from time to time, depending on the individual needs of our clients.

More than just cleaning For us, it's not simply about getting the cleaning done.

Our team works in people's homes, often supporting clients who may be experiencing disability, ageing-related changes or other circumstances that make managing their home more difficult.

Some of our clients may also be vulnerable or have experienced difficult circumstances, so being able to build trust and work with sensitivity and patience is particularly important.

We're looking for someone who takes pride in doing a great job, but who is also kind, respectful and non-judgemental, and understands that every home — and every person — is different.

What you'll be doing

Your day may include

- General residential cleaning
- Cleaning bathrooms, kitchens and floors, dusting and other household tasks
- Helping clients maintain a clean, protected and comfortable home
- Occasional light home care or home management tasks
- Working independently in clients' homes
- Occasionally working alongside another team member
- Following individual client notes and requirements
- Caring for the equipment and products provided to you

Hours that may work around you Our services are provided during the day,



Monday to Friday – no evenings, weekends or public holidays.

Who we're looking for

Previous residential cleaning experience is preferred.

Because of the nature of our work, we're particularly looking for someone who brings a calm, mature and respectful approach when working in people's homes.

- Takes pride in cleaning thoroughly and doing the job well
- Is kind, patient, respectful and non-judgemental
- Is comfortable working with older adults and people living with disability
- Understands that some clients may need time to feel comfortable having someone in their home
- Can work confidently on their own and as part of a team
- Is honest and trustworthy
- Is open to feedback and willing to learn
- Can follow instructions while also using common sense
- Understands the importance of privacy, confidentiality and professional boundaries
- Understands that being invited into someone's home is a position of trust

We'll provide training in our processes, equipment and expectations so you feel confident working to A Place of Calm's standards.



What you'll need
- A current driver's licence
- Your own reliable vehicle
- Current vehicle insurance
- The ability to travel between clients throughout our service area
- The ability to meet the required police and worker screening requirements for the role
- To meet any applicable health or vaccination requirements associated with the services you provide

- Casual employment – Cleaning Services Employee Level 1
- Monday to Friday daytime work – no evenings, weekends or public holidays
