About the role
You will guide homeowners from initial enquiry through needs assessment, proposal and signed agreement, combining disciplined follow-up with clear, honest advice. This is a hands-on sales role: you own the conversion of allocated enquiries, develop your own referral opportunities and hand over cleanly to the delivery team.
Key responsibilities
- Manage the sales journey: respond promptly to allocated enquiries, qualify customer needs, arrange consultations and keep a clear next step in place through to a signed agreement.
- Understand the household: discuss electricity usage, bills, existing solar, battery goals, budget and preferred timing; collect property details and meter/switchboard photos.
- Present suitable solutions: work with the technical team on system suitability and explain solar, battery and upgrade options in language homeowners understand.
- Prepare and close proposals: explain approved pricing, scope, exclusions and payment terms; handle objections and negotiate within delegated limits.
- Develop business: generate referrals and local opportunities alongside allocated leads, and maintain relationships that lead to repeat business and recommendations.
- Keep reliable records: log calls, emails, appointments and outcomes in the CRM; keep lead ownership, stages, contact details and follow-up dates current.
- Sell responsibly: use approved information on savings, incentives and finance options, and refer eligibility, design or installation questions for confirmation rather than making unsupported promises.
- Deliver a clean handover: provide signed documents, agreed scope, supporting customer information and any commitments or site concerns to the operations team.
About you
- A demonstrated record of closing residential solar,
battery or comparable home-improvement sales, with examples of conversion performance and customer outcomes.
- Confident consultative selling, objection handling and closing skills, supported by disciplined phone, email and appointment follow-up.
- A practical understanding of solar and battery benefits and limitations, and the ability to explain technical concepts without overselling.
- Solid organisation and CRM discipline – comfortable using Salesforce or learning an equivalent sales workflow.
- Clear written and verbal communication, professional conduct and a customer-first approach.
- Based in Sydney and able to attend customer and site appointments, with a current driver's licence and the right to work in Australia.
- Experience with battery retrofits, existing-solar upgrades and interpreting household electricity bills.
- A local referral network and experience coordinating with technical, installation and customer-service teams.
