Coastal Respiratory and Sleep Specialists is seeking a Respiratory and Sleep Physician to join our expanding specialist team on the Gold Coast. This is an opportunity to develop a rewarding and flexible practice within a collaborative group offering comprehensive respiratory and sleep medicine across three locations. You will join a team characterised by clinical excellence, innovation, initiative and a genuine commitment to improving services for patients and referrers.

The position may be structured as either full-time or part-time, with scope to develop areas of subspecialty interest, participate in research and contribute to the future direction of the practice.

The clinical opportunity

Our physicians have access to an unusually broad range of diagnostic and clinical services, including:

- General respiratory and sleep medicine
- Outpatient consulting across three locations
- Inpatient care with a shared physician roster
- Home-based and attended in-laboratory sleep studies
- Transcutaneous carbon dioxide monitoring to support complex ventilation assessment and titration
- Comprehensive respiratory function laboratory support
- Diagnostic and interventional bronchoscopy
- Radial EBUS for peripheral pulmonary lesions
- Convex EBUS for mediastinal and hilar assessment
- Access to multidisciplinary meetings and established specialist networks
- Remote server access, allowing external reporting of lung function and sleep studies
- Xestro practice-management software

The practice is continuing to expand its services, with plans to develop more structured subspecialty clinics and clinical pathways.



The successful physician will have the opportunity to help design and lead services aligned with their interests, which may include severe airways disease, interstitial lung disease, bronchiectasis and NTM disease, pulmonary hypertension, thoracic oncology, complex sleep-disordered breathing, non-invasive ventilation or other areas of expertise.

You will work alongside physicians and a broader clinical and administrative team who value communication, shared problem-solving and practical service improvement. Our Practice Manager will coordinate your onboarding and help establish your consulting, hospital, reporting and administrative workflows. The wider team is committed to making the transition into the practice as smooth as possible and to building systems that allow doctors to focus on high-quality clinical care.

About you

We are looking for a physician who:

- Is qualified in respiratory and sleep medicine, or respiratory medicine with a strong interest in sleep medicine
- Holds, or is eligible to obtain, specialist registration with AHPRA
- Is committed to thoughtful, patient-centred care
- Values collaboration and collegiality
- Is interested in helping develop new services and better models of care
- Brings initiative, curiosity and enthusiasm to their work

The position can be tailored to suit the right candidate, including part-time or full-time practice and a clinical mix reflecting individual expertise and interests.
