Jasmine Asian Food Market is a well-established Asian grocery store that has been serving the Toowoomba community for more than 14 years.

We stock a wide range of Asian groceries, fresh and frozen foods, beverages, household products and specialty ingredients. Our customers come from diverse cultural backgrounds, with a strong focus on the local Southeast Asian community.

We are currently seeking an experienced and responsible Retail Manager to oversee the day-to-day operation of our store and support the continued growth of the business.

About the Role The Retail Manager will be responsible for managing the overall operation of Jasmine Asian Food Market, including staff supervision, stock control, purchasing, customer service, merchandising, supplier coordination and compliance with food safety and workplace requirements.

The successful candidate will work closely with the business owners, employees and suppliers to ensure the store operates efficiently and provides a consistently high standard of service to customers.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage the day-to-day operation of Jasmine Asian Food Market
- Plan and coordinate store activities, staffing requirements and employee work schedules
- Recruit, train, supervise and support retail employees
- Allocate duties to staff and monitor their performance
- Maintain a high standard of customer service and respond to customer enquiries, feedback and complaints
- Monitor stock levels and arrange the ordering and purchasing of products
- Liaise and negotiate with local and overseas suppliers regarding product selection, pricing,



availability and delivery
- Receive and inspect incoming stock to ensure that quantities, quality and pricing are correct
- Manage stock rotation, product expiry dates and inventory records
- Review sales performance and customer demand to determine appropriate product ranges and stock levels
- Set and review product prices in consultation with the business owners
- Develop and implement merchandising and promotional strategies to improve sales
- Ensure products are correctly displayed, priced and labelled
- Monitor store expenses, sales results and operational performance
- Manage cash-handling procedures, point-of-sale operations and daily financial reconciliations
- Ensure the store is clean, organised and presented to a high standard
- Maintain compliance with food safety, hygiene, workplace health and safety, and other relevant regulations
- Identify opportunities to improve store operations, customer experience and business performance

About You The ideal candidate will have:
- At least two to three years of experience in retail management, store supervision or a similar role
- Demonstrated experience in managing the daily operations of a retail business




- Strong leadership skills and the ability to supervise, train and motivate employees
- Experience in stock control, purchasing, merchandising and supplier coordination
- Good knowledge of retail sales, customer service and cash-handling procedures
- Strong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills
- The ability to work independently and take responsibility for store operations
- The ability to work in a busy retail environment and manage competing priorities
- Positive computer skills and experience using point-of-sale and inventory management systems
- Knowledge of Asian grocery products, ingredients and customer preferences would be highly regarded
- The ability to communicate with customers and suppliers from different cultural backgrounds would be an advantage
- A reliable, responsible and hands-on approach to work

Availability and Work Requirements The position is full-time and may require work on weekends, public holidays and during busy trading periods. Applicants must have the appropriate right to work full-time in Australia.
