Retail & Social Media Assistant

Part-Time | Approx. 20–25 hours per week

House of Kalakar is a growing South Asian fashion boutique specialising in handpicked Indian clothing, including lehengas, sarees, suits and Indo-Western styles.

We’re looking for a confident, creative and organised Retail & Social Media Assistant to join our team. This is a hands-on role combining customer service and boutique operations with content creation and social media.

The RoleYou’ll help with

- Assisting customers during boutique appointments
- Providing friendly and confident styling and sales support
- Responding to customer enquiries and social media DMs
- Creating and filming content for Instagram and TikTok
- Appearing in social media content and being comfortable speaking on camera
- Editing Reels and short-form videos
- Posting Stories and helping manage our social media presence
- Photographing and showcasing new arrivals
- Packing online orders and assisting with day-to-day boutique operations
- Helping organise influencer collaborations, PR and photoshoots
- Supporting new collection launches and marketing activities
- Keeping the boutique and stock organised and presentation-ready

About YouWe’re looking for someone who:
- Has some previous experience in retail, sales, social media or content creation
- Is confident using Instagram and TikTok




- Is comfortable and confident in front of the camera
- Has a good eye for fashion, content and presentation
- Enjoys speaking with customers and has strong communication skills
- Is reliable, organised and willing to learn
- Can work independently and take initiative
- Has an interest in South Asian fashion and culture

Hours & AvailabilityThis is a part-time role of approximately 20–25 hours per week.

Working days can be flexible and agreed upon together; however, weekend availability is key and you will likely be required to work weekends, depending on boutique appointments and business needs. Some flexibility around collection launches, photoshoots and busy periods would also be appreciated.
