The Opportunity As a Mechanical Fitter, you will be responsible for the assembly, overhaul, refurbishment, maintenance, and repair of underground mining equipment and longwall components. Working within a highly skilled workshop team, your daily duties will include:

Assembly and disassembly of capital and used underground mining materials handling equipment, including Roof Supports, AFCs and BSL overhauls

Refurbishment and repair of underground mining equipment and components

Fault finding, maintenance and mechanical fitting activities

Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications

Minor welding and associated support tasks





Assisting in the training and development of apprentices by demonstrating secure and correct work procedures

Maintaining workshop housekeeping and 5S standards

Contributing to a strong safety and quality culture

About You To be successful in this role, you will have:

Mechanical Fitter Trade Qualification or equivalent

Legal rights to work in Australia

Experience in mining, heavy industry, manufacturing, industrial maintenance, or similar environments

Robust mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings

Strong organisational and time management skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement

Excellent work ethic and attention to detail

Highly Regarded

Longwall or underground mining equipment experience

Forklift Licence

Overhead Crane Ticket

Current Driver's Licence

Experience working on Roof Supports, AFCs, BSLs or other mining materials handling equipment
