About the role:

n

You'll be applying protective coatings to large commercial vessels, barges, tug boats and marine structures in a heavy industrial environment.

n

Day to day, you'll be:

n

n
- Preparing surfaces through sanding, grinding and abrasive blasting
n




- Applying industrial protective coatings using airless spray and other methods
n
- Working with two-pack epoxy, polyurethane and similar coating systems
n
- Mixing coatings to manufacturer specifications and ensuring correct thickness and finish
n
- Masking, identifying surface defects and completing remedial preparation
n
- Working at heights and in confined spaces around large vessels
n

What you'll bring:

n

n
- Previous experience as an Industrial Painter
n
- Robust surface preparation experience and a willingness to sandblast
n
- Experience using industrial spray equipment, particularly airless spray
n
- Availability for 6am starts and a genuine willingness to work significant overtime
n
- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and police check
n

n

Experience across marine, shipyards, heavy fabrication, structural steel, mining, oil and gas, heavy machinery or protective coatings will be highly regarded. A trade qualification is preferred, though strong relevant industrial painting experience will also be considered. Tickets such as EWP, Forklift, Working at Heights and Confined Space are highly desirable.
