We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Senior Medical Receptionist / Secretary to join a busy, well-established specialist private practice based across leading private hospitals in Brisbane.
n
The practice is led by a highly respected senior physician with extensive clinical, administrative and academic experience. Prior to establishing a successful private practice, he held senior medical leadership positions within major Brisbane hospitals, including Deputy Director of a Division of Medicine and subsequently Director of Internal Medicine and Perioperative Medicine.
n
In addition to his private practice commitments, he is a Senior Lecturer in Medicine at The University of Queensland and serves as Chair of a major hospital's Drugs and Therapeutics Committee. This is an opportunity to become an integral part of a professional medical team where organisation, discretion, initiative and a high level of patient service are highly valued.

The position is full-time, Monday to Friday, with the following hours:
n
Monday: 8:00am – 4:30pm
n
Tuesday: 11:00am – 7:00pm
n
Thursday: 8:00am – 4:30pm
n
Friday: 8:00am – 4:30pm
n
Key duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
n
Manage the day-to-day operations of patient clinics, responding promptly and professionally to patient enquiries.
n
Coordinate and oversee a busy Physician's appointment schedule across two major hospitals and a private practice clinic.
n
Coordinate all aspects of clinic operations, including in-person and telehealth consultations.
n
Manage inpatient and outpatient billing processes using Xestro software, ensuring accuracy and timely processing.
n
Triage incoming patient referrals and coordinate the appropriate allocation and scheduling of new patients.
n
Liaise with clinicians, hospital teams and practice staff to support the timely coordination of preoperative assessments.
n
Organise and coordinate preoperative investigations, including X-rays, echocardiograms, pathology and lung function testing, according to each patient's medical history and clinical requirements.
n
Prepare accurate and timely clinical correspondence using Lyrebird AI technology, ensuring documentation is completed to a high professional standard.
n
Work closely with the Practice Manager to support the efficient and smooth day-to-day operation of the practice.
n
Maintain effective communication with patients, clinicians, hospitals and external providers to ensure a coordinated and patient-focused service.
n
This is a fast-paced role supporting a highly active General Physician and requires an experienced Medical Receptionist/Secretary who is exceptionally organised, calm under pressure, able to work both independently and within a small team and demonstrates a positive, proactive attitude.

Remuneration:
n
An hourly rate of $42 - $48 per annum plus super will be offered to the successful candidate, commensurate with experience.
