Clinical Psychologist

to join the founding Allied Health team at our new private multidisciplinary medical centre in Bundall on the Gold Coast.

The position will initially commence

part-time from October 2026 , with the opportunity to progressively increase days and transition into a

full-time role

as the Psychology service and patient caseload grow.

within one purpose-built clinical environment.

Psychology will be an important part of this model.

Rather than working as an isolated service, our Clinical Psychologist will have the opportunity to work alongside GPs, Cardiologists, Specialists and other Allied Health practitioners to support patients across both traditional mental health presentations and the psychological aspects of broader medical care.

This may include patients managing chronic disease, cardiovascular risk, rehabilitation, weight management, behaviour change, lifestyle modification, adjustment to illness and long-term health goals.

The role offers the opportunity to build a strong private psychology caseload while also helping shape how Psychology integrates into the broader Nuevo clinical model from the beginning.

A genuinely multidisciplinary model Nuevo is designed around the idea that patients often need more than a single consultation or discipline.





A patient may require medical oversight from their GP, input from a Cardiologist or Specialist, psychological support, nutrition intervention, Exercise Physiology, Physiotherapy and ongoing review.

Our Clinical Psychologist will be able to work collaboratively with these clinicians where appropriate, with the aim of creating more coordinated and effective care around the patient.

This may involve:

Working alongside GPs on Mental Health Treatment Plans and ongoing patient management

Supporting Cardiology patients where psychological wellbeing, stress, anxiety, adherence or behaviour change are affecting cardiovascular health

Collaborating with Dietitians and Exercise Physiologists around weight management, metabolic health, lifestyle change and long-term behaviour change

Supporting patients undertaking rehabilitation following illness, injury or significant health events

Contributing to structured multidisciplinary care programs

Participating in case discussions and coordinated care planning where appropriate

Helping develop recent Psychology pathways and programs as the Nuevo model evolves

Clinical independence, patient choice and professional judgement remain fundamental to the way care is delivered.

The clinical work The role may involve patients presenting with areas including:

Anxiety and depression

Stress and adjustment

Health-related anxiety

Behaviour change

Chronic disease and psychological wellbeing

Weight and body-image concerns

Sleep and lifestyle factors

Motivation and adherence to health goals

Adjustment following diagnosis or significant health events

Relationship, family and workplace stress

General adult psychology

There is also significant opportunity for the successful Clinical Psychologist to develop their own areas of clinical interest within Nuevo.

Coordinated care programs An important part of the Nuevo model will be the development of structured programs that bring medical and Allied Health care together.

Psychology may contribute to programs across areas such as:

Cardiometabolic health

Cardiac rehabilitation

Weight and body composition

Chronic disease management

Behaviour and lifestyle change

Rehabilitation and return to activity

Healthy ageing and longevity

Preventative health

The Clinical Psychologist will have the opportunity to work with the broader clinical team to help develop these pathways and determine how Psychology can best support patients within them.





About you We are looking for a Clinical Psychologist who:

Holds current

AHPRA registration with Clinical Psychology endorsement

Is eligible to provide Medicare-rebatable Clinical Psychology services

Provides high-quality, evidence-based psychological care

Values strong therapeutic relationships and continuity of care

Is comfortable working independently while also collaborating with other clinicians

Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Is professional, organised and patient-focused

Has an interest in multidisciplinary healthcare

Is interested in helping establish and shape a new Psychology service

Values prevention, rehabilitation and long-term patient outcomes

Experience or an interest in

health psychology, chronic disease, behaviour change, lifestyle medicine, rehabilitation or multidisciplinary healthcare

would be particularly valuable.
