This is an exciting opportunity to join the Finance Team of a well-established, global manufacturing and distribution business with operations across Australia, New Zealand and the United States. Based at the company's Oceania head office in Yatala, this role offers exposure to multiple entities, manufacturing operations and a broad range of accounting responsibilities, making it an ideal next step for an ambitious Assistant Accountant looking to progress their career.

Working closely with the Financial Controller, you will take ownership of day-to-day financial operations while gaining valuable experience across financial reporting, reconciliations, fixed assets, inventory and compliance.

This is a hands-on role where no two days are the same. You will be involved in:

Bank account reconciliations and resolving discrepancies.

Maintaining general ledgers and financial records across multiple entities.

Monthly balance sheet reconciliations and preparation of supporting workpapers.

Preparation of monthly departmental and ad hoc financial reports.

Preparation of monthly and quarterly GST returns.

Assisting with manufacturing variance reporting, production costs and stock control.

Managing fixed asset acquisitions, disposals and register maintenance.

Work-in-progress calculations and fixed asset accounting.

Supporting payroll processing and administration.

Overseeing and providing backup for Accounts Payable processes.

Assisting with year-end financial statements and income tax return packages.

Liaising with external tax agents and auditors.

Working collaboratively with internal teams to ensure efficient financial operations.

We are looking for an Assistant Accountant or Accountant who is ready to broaden their experience and take the next step. You will ideally bring:

3+ years of accounting experience, ideally within an Assistant Accountant or similar role.

A degree qualification in Accounting.

Strong reconciliation and general ledger experience.

A genuine desire to develop your technical accounting knowledge.

Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Experience with Microsoft Business Central or a similar ERP system (desirable). Good Excel

Manufacturing experience is advantageous but not essential.

A proactive, solutions-focused approach and willingness to take ownership.
