About the Opportunity

Alchemy Recruitment Consulting is partnering with a major mining and resources organisation to source a Finance Specialist, supporting financial management, reporting, forecasting, and governance across a Maintenance Strategy and Governance team. This is a 6-12 month contract suited to a detail-oriented finance professional who is comfortable working across SAP and enjoys a project environment.

You'll work closely with Project Managers, Finance Leads, and Supply teams to ensure accurate project cost management and compliance with financial controls.

This role is based in Brisbane based on a Monday to Friday roster, working under a 3-2-1 office policy.

Key Responsibilities

n

- Prepare monthly project and program financial reporting packs for leadership and stakeholders
n
- Consolidate, review, and analyse project costs against approved budgets and forecasts
n
- Conduct variance analysis and explain cost movements and financial performance
n
- Ensure project and program costs are accurately recorded in SAP and associated systems
n
- Manage and process accruals in line with company financial policy
n
- Develop reliable project cost forecasts and support annual budgeting cycles (2YB, 5YP)

- Create, amend, and manage Purchase Requisitions in SAP, working closely with Supply and Procurement
n
- Provide financial guidance to Project Managers and program stakeholders

About You

n

n
- Demonstrated experience in a finance, accounting, project controls, or commercial support role
n
- Experience supporting projects, programs, or operational business environments
n
- Strong financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cost management skills
n
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office Suite
n
- Solid analytical and problem-solving capability, comfortable working independently across competing priorities
n
- SAP experience, ideally within a project, maintenance, or operational environment, highly regarded
n
- Exposure to mining, resources, engineering, or heavy industry sectors an advantage
n
- Power BI reporting experience a plus
n

Qualifications & Requirements

n

n
- Degree or tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related discipline
n
- Progress towards or completion of CA, CPA, or an equivalent professional qualification desirable
n
