Murgon Hospital is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for a four-week contract role across the wards, running from 28 September to 25 October 2026. This is a wide-ranging rural nursing position that combines ward care, emergency response, and clinical leadership experience. Based in regional Queensland, the role offers up to 80 hours per fortnight with travel costs from Brisbane capped at $200 each way, making it an accessible opportunity for nurses looking to broaden their rural practice.

Preferred Requirements

- Advanced Life Support (ALS)



and Paediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification

- Demonstrated experience in emergency nursing, triage, and cannulation

- Proven rural and remote nursing experience with the ability to work autonomously

- Team leader experience and demonstrated clinical leadership capability

- On-call availability and flexibility to respond to varying patient acuity across the wards

Preferred Qualifications

- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse

- Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation certification or willingness to obtain it

- Post-graduate qualification or demonstrated competency in emergency or rural nursing practice
