Safety, Quality & Compliance Officer

Workforce Extensions Ballarat is partnering with Plastek Industries to recruit a capable and hands on Safety, Quality & Compliance Officer.

This is an exciting opportunity to join an established Australian manufacturing business that is continuing to grow and develop. The role will have a broad focus across safety, quality, compliance and continuous improvement, working closely with the production team and management to support the business as it moves into its next stage.

About the Role

You'll take ownership of a broad range of safety, quality and compliance responsibilities across Plastek's concrete and plastics operations.

Working closely with management and operational teams, you'll help maintain existing systems while identifying opportunities to improve processes, reduce risk and strengthen the overall safety and quality culture.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and maintain WHS policies, procedures and systems
- Conduct workplace inspections, risk assessments, inductions and safety audits
- Manage incidents, hazards and corrective actions
- Deliver safety, quality and compliance training and toolbox talks
- Oversee quality control processes across production
- Maintain quality records, documentation and traceability




- Conduct internal audits and support external and customer audits
- Monitor compliance with relevant legislation, standards and customer requirements
- Investigate non-conformances, complaints and process issues
- Work with suppliers and subcontractors to maintain quality standards
- Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives
- Assist with technical and quality requirements relating to new products and projects

What We Are Looking For

We're looking for someone who is practical, organised and confident working across both the operational and administrative sides of safety and quality.

You'll ideally have:

- Experience in a safety, quality, compliance or similar manufacturing role
- Solid knowledge of WHS systems, risk management and incident investigation
- Experience with quality systems, audits and corrective actions
- Strong attention to detail and documentation skills
- The ability to communicate effectively with production staff and management
- A practical approach to problem solving and continuous improvement
- The confidence to work independently and take ownership

Experience in manufacturing, concrete, plastics or a related industrial environment will be highly regarded.
