About the role

Reporting into the General manager & Dealership Principal, we have an exciting opportunity for a Sales Manager - New Vehicles to join the team at Melbourne City Lexus. This is a full-time position based in Melbourne, VIC 3000.

As Sales Manager - New Vehicles, you will be responsible for leading and driving the new vehicle sales function of our dealership. This role is pivotal to achieving our sales targets and delivering exceptional customer experiences that align with the Lexus brand values. You will manage a team of sales consultants, oversee sales operations, and play a key strategic role in maximising revenue whilst maintaining the highest standards of service and professionalism.

Key responsibilities

- Leading and managing the new vehicle sales team to achieve and exceed monthly and annual sales targets
- Recruiting, training, coaching and developing sales consultants to enhance their performance and professional capabilities
- Overseeing the complete sales process, from customer engagement through to vehicle delivery and handover
- Implementing and maintaining sales strategies and promotional activities to drive new vehicle sales
- Managing inventory, vehicle allocation and stock rotation to optimise sales opportunities
- Monitoring sales performance metrics and providing regular reporting to dealership management
- Ensuring all sales activities comply with relevant legislation, dealership policies and Lexus brand standards
- Building and maintaining strong customer relationships to encourage repeat business and positive referrals
- Collaborating with the finance and administration teams to ensure smooth transaction processing
- Identifying areas for improvement and implementing process enhancements to boost efficiency and customer satisfaction

What we're looking for

- Proven experience in automotive sales management, with a track record of achieving sales targets and managing teams
- Strong leadership capabilities with the ability to motivate, develop and inspire sales staff




- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels
- In-depth knowledge of the automotive sales process and customer journey
- Demonstrated ability to analyse sales data and use insights to drive business decisions
- Experience with dealership management systems and CRM software
- A passion for the automotive industry and a commitment to delivering outstanding customer service
- Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to multitask effectively
- Valid Australian driver's licence
- Preferred experience: Familiarity with the Lexus brand, luxury automotive market knowledge, or previous experience in premium vehicle sales
