The Opportunity
As our Demi Chef, you will take pride in the preparation and presentation of high-quality food across all Canterbury Food and Beverage outlets, including the production and functions kitchens. You will play an important role in the successful operation of the Food and Beverage team by preparing and presenting food in accordance with Canterbury’s standards, ensuring consistency, quality, and attention to detail at all times.
This role provides an excellent opportunity to further develop your skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Follow procedures in relation to stock control and rotation to ensure that wastage is minimised, and process orders as required.
- Work collaboratively with the outlet staff and broader Kitchen Team members to achieve deadlines and satisfy client requirements.
- Maintain an awareness of all kitchens operating manuals and safe work methods statements to ensure tasks are carried out in a safe manner.
- Ensure quantity and quality of food products for assigned section/tasks is as per Canterbury standards and guidelines.
About You
- Demonstrated experience working in a high-volume kitchen environment.
- Ability to multitask effectively, prioritise tasks, and remain productive whilst working in a fast paced environment.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Trade qualification in Commercial Cookery or Kitchen Management.
- Sound knowledge of kitchen management operations.
- Flexibility to work a 7-day rotating roster including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
