About the role We are seeking a
Claiming & Finance Officer
to join our team in
Inverell, NSW 2360
on a
full time or part-time basis . This is an integral position that sits at the heart of our financial operations, where you will play a crucial role in managing claims, processing financial transactions, and ensuring the accuracy and compliance of our financial records. This role is critical in maintaining the financial integrity of the organisation and supporting our ability to deliver services effectively.
Key responsibilities
Processing and managing financial claims with accuracy and attention to detail
Preparing and maintaining financial records, ensuring all documentation is complete and properly filed
Reconciling accounts and investigating discrepancies to ensure financial accuracy
Processing invoices in a timely manner
Liaising with external parties, including funding bodies and service providers, regarding claims and financial matters
Maintaining confidentiality and adhering to data protection protocols in all financial transactions
Supporting compliance with relevant accounting standards and organisational financial policies
Assisting with period-end closing procedures and audit requirements
Utilising claiming software and systems to record and manage financial information
What we're looking for
A qualification in bookkeeping or a related financial discipline,
or equivalent practical experience as an accounts officer or clerk
Proficiency in accounting software and systems, with the ability to quickly learn new platforms
Strong numeracy skills and exceptional attention to detail, particularly when processing financial data
Knowledge of financial regulations, compliance requirements and best practices in accounts management
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Professional communication skills and the ability to liaise effectively with colleagues and external stakeholders
Reliability, integrity and a commitment to maintaining accuracy in all financial matters
Experience with claims processing or financial administration in a similar role (preferred)
Familiarity with funding body requirements and claims procedures (preferred)
