About the Role

RRB Corporation Pty Ltd is seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated Computer Network and Systems Engineer to join our growing infrastructure operations based in Coonabarabran, NSW. In this critical technical role, you will be responsible for planning, deploying, troubleshooting, and maintaining our operating systems, virtualised environments, server infrastructure, and associated databases to ensure high availability, data integrity, and optimal security performance.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

Administer, configure, and maintain physical and virtual Windows Server and VMware vSphere/ESXi environments to support seamless daily operations.

Execute routine patching cycles (including WSUS and firmware updates), system upgrades, and platform migrations to maintain a secure infrastructure posture.

Implement, monitor, and test backup and disaster recovery procedures to safeguard critical business data and ensure rapid restore capabilities.

Manage directory services, network protocols, and core access systems, including Active Directory (AD), Group Policy Objects (GPOs), DNS, and DHCP.

Provide intermediate to advanced (Tier-2/Tier-3) troubleshooting and diagnostic support for complex server hardware and operating system incidents.





Assist with basic enterprise database administration and maintenance tasks (Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL).

Collaborate with internal teams and external IT partners to implement system updates, security patches, and vulnerability remediations.

Produce and update standard operating procedures (SOPs), system runbooks, technical documentation, and activity logs.

Selection Criteria & Qualifications -

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Information & Communication Technology (ICT), Computer Science, or a closely related discipline (or equivalent practical experience).

Experience: Minimum 2+ years of dedicated skilled experience in systems administration, network administration, or infrastructure engineering.

Technical Skills:

Hands-on proficiency with Microsoft Windows Server and virtualisation platforms (VMware vSphere/ESXi).

Working familiarity with Active Directory management, GPO deployment, DNS, and DHCP configuration.

Experience handling server patching, automated backups, and routine platform maintenance tasks.

Exposure to relational database platforms (MS SQL Server / MySQL) is highly regarded.
