We are working with our well-known metal client who is seeking an experienced Welder / Sheet Metal Fabricator to join their well-established manufacturing team on a full-time, permanent basis.

This hands-on role involves welding, cutting, grinding, assembly and general fabrication of sheet metal and fabricated metal products. It is an excellent chance for someone looking for stable, ongoing employment within a busy sheet metal fabrication environment.

$60,000 - $95,000 + super - depending on experience
Full-time work
9am - 5pm - sometimes earlier
Monday - Friday
Based in Western Sydney

Key Responsibilities

- Perform MIG, TIG and/or other welding processes as required
- Weld and fabricate sheet metal components and assemblies
- Work with mild steel, stainless steel and aluminium
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, measurements and fabrication specifications
- Assemble fabricated components and finished products
- Prepare materials and surfaces before welding
- Complete grinding, polishing and finishing work
- Inspect completed welds and fabricated components for quality
- Identify and rectify fabrication or welding defects
- Operate hand tools, power tools and workshop equipment




- Assist with bending, forming and general sheet metal fabrication
- Complete general workshop and production duties as required
- Work collaboratively with fabricators, machine operators and production staff

General Requirements

- Previous experience as a Welder, Metal Fabricator or Sheet Metal Worker - essential
- Previous experience within sheet metal, manufacturing, engineering or metal fabrication - essential
- MIG/TIG welding experience - essential
- Experience working with mild steel, stainless steel and/or aluminium
- Ability to accurately measure, cut and fabricate metal
- Ability to read and follow fabrication or engineering drawings
- Experience using grinders, drills, saws and fabrication tools
- Good understanding of workplace health and safety

What is needed from you

- Australia Citizen or Permanent Resident
- Ability to commit 5 days a week - full-time
- 2-5 year's experience welding
- Committed to workplace safety and quality standards
