Our Strategy Policy Science & Engagement team is currently seeking to appoint a Senior Policy Officer to lead and coordinate strategic policy advice, executive briefing processes and evidence-based policy initiatives that support sustainable environmental outcomes across NSW.

As a Senior Policy Officer, you will contribute to strategic policy projects and provide advice on issues that influence environmental and natural capital outcomes across NSW. Working with senior leaders and subject matter experts, you will coordinate executive, Ministerial and Parliamentary briefings, develop policy advice and help bring together scientific evidence, operational insights and government priorities to support informed decision-making.

About You

You have experience developing policy advice in a government or similarly complex environment and can quickly analyse information, identify key issues and provide clear, evidence-based recommendations. Experience preparing executive, Ministerial or Cabinet correspondence and navigating government processes will be highly regarded.

You are a strong communicator who builds effective working relationships across teams and stakeholders. You can manage competing priorities, exercise sound judgement and deliver high-quality work within tight timeframes. You enjoy working collaboratively and are comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment where priorities can shift quickly.





Key knowledge and experience

- Understanding of the machinery of Government and the policy process or demonstrated ability to acquire knowledge quickly.
- Experience in providing support and advice at the senior executive level.

Essential Requirements

- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline and/or equivalent experience.
