About the Role

n

We are seeking an experiencedStructural Steel Modeler / Project Leadto join our team in Parkdale, VIC.

n

This is a senior-level position suited to a highly capable structural steel professional with15+ years of industry experience, strong technical knowledge and proven experience modelling and managing a team.

n

You will be responsible for producing and coordinating high-quality structural steel models and fabrication documentation, while also managing project delivery and providing leadership to a team of detailers/marking planners and modelers.

n

Key Responsibilities

n

n
- Develop and manage detailed3D structural steel models using Tekla Structures.
n
- Lead and coordinate a team of structural steel modelers/detailers.
n
- Plan, manage and monitor projects from modelling through to fabrication documentation and delivery.
n
- Coordinate structural steel models with engineers, architects, fabricators, builders and other project stakeholders.
n
- Identify and resolve technical, design and coordination issues.
n
- Manage project priorities, deadlines and deliverables.
n
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior and intermediate team members.
n
- Review team members' work and maintain a high standard of modelling and detailing.
n
- Communicate effectively with clients, consultants, project managers, workshop/fabrication teams including asking and responding to RFIs.
n




- Ensure projects are delivered efficiently, accurately and within agreed timeframes.
n
- Contribute to improving modelling, detailing and project management processes.
n

About You

n

To be successful in this role, you will have:

n

n
- 15+ years' experience in structural steel modelling preferably within the Australian steel construction industry.
n
- Advanced and demonstratedTekla Structuresexperience.
n
- Strong understanding of structural steel fabrication, erection and detailing practices.
n
- Proven experienceleading and project managing a team.
n
- Ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines.
n
- Excellent attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality.
n
- Strong understanding of structural steel drawings, engineering documentation and fabrication requirements.
n
- Excellentverbal and written English communication skills.
n
- Confidence communicating with clients, engineers, fabricators and internal teams.
n
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
n
- Ability to work independently while also providing effective leadership to a team.
n
- A proactive, organised and professional approach to project delivery.
