Job Description

Psychologist or Counsellor animal assisted therapy clinic

n

Come and do therapy a little differently.

n

If you love the idea of working in an workplace where therapy can extend beyond four walls...

n

and the occasional cat wondering into session then we should talk.

n

We offer evidence based practice in an animal friendly setting.

n

We're a small, down-to-earth team who genuinely love what we do. Our clinic provides traditional clinic-based therapy alongside animal-assisted and outdoor therapeutic experiences, creating a relaxed, engaging environment where clients — particularly children, adolescents and neurodivergent clients — can often connect in ways they haven't been able to in more traditional settings.

n

And yes... there are horses, cats, guinea pigs, rats, birds and plenty of furry personality around here.

n

You'll have the opportunity to:

n

Start 1-2 days per week, selected from Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday - with room to expand.

n

Join an established clinic with existing referral pathways

n

A caseload with a strong focus on children and adolescents (many who are neurodivergent)

n

Work independently while still being part of a supportive, approachable team

n

Practise in comfortable consulting rooms without the corporate-clinic feel

n

Incorporate animals, outdoor spaces and experiential approaches into therapy where clinically appropriate and within your skills and interests

n

You absolutely do not need to be an animal-assisted therapist already. We can provide full training. You just need to love animals and be either:

n

An AHPRA Registered (or Provisionally) Psychologist, or

n

A PACFA-registered Counsellor

n

We're looking for someone who values strong, evidence-based clinical work, enjoys collaboration, and genuinely wants to become part of the team.

n

Interested?

n

We would love to hear from you.
