We're a South Australian family business with more than 25 years in the window furnishings and security industry. We've just finished setting up a purpose-built manufacturing facility in Adelaide so we can make our own security doors and screens in-house, under our TrueFasten and Tessero brands — new double-head mitre saw, new heavy-duty cutting saw, digital measuring, the lot.

We're looking for one experienced person to be the first fabricator on that floor, and to run it.

This is a genuine ground-floor role. Nobody has done this job here before you, which means there's no "way we've always done it" to inherit. How the benches are laid out, how the jobs are sequenced, what good looks like before a door goes out the door — that's yours to set. We'll back your judgement, because that's why we're hiring someone who knows what they're doing.

What you'd be doing

- Cutting, assembling and finishing security doors and window screens to spec
- Setting up and running a 45° double-head mitre saw and a heavy-duty single-head cutting saw with digital measuring stops
- Mesh tensioning and mechanical fastening, frame assembly, locks and hardware
- Final quality check on every job before it leaves the building
- Sequencing the week's work off the order list
- Keeping an eye on materials and consumables, and telling us what's needed before we run out
- Training and checking the work of our other factory hands — this is a leading hand role, not just a pair of hands

Hours that suit you Monday to Friday, full time — but the start and finish times are open.

Out on site as well, if you want it

You won't be stuck in the factory five days a week unless that's what you'd prefer. There's regular opportunity to get out on site with our install team — seeing your own work go into a customer's home, understanding how it fits, and bringing that back to the bench. Some of the best product improvements come from the person who made it standing there while it's installed. If you like variety in your week, it's there.

Straight line to the owner

You'd report directly to the owner — no supervisor layer, no head office, no reporting into someone who reports to someone else. If you need a decision, you'll have it the same day. If something isn't working, you tell one person and it gets fixed. That's the whole management structure, and we intend to keep it that way.

What you'd bring

- Real experience fabricating in aluminium — security doors and screens ideally, but window and door fabrication, flyscreens, roller shutters, shopfitting or light sheet metal all translate well




- Confidence setting up and running mitre and cutting saws to tight tolerances
- The ability to read a cut list and a job sheet and get it right the first time
- Pride in the finish — we're building a brand on the quality of the product, not on price
- Willingness to show someone else how to do it properly, and to pull them up when it's not
- A current driver's licence

- $70,000 – $80,000 base plus superannuation, depending on experience
- Full-time, permanent, ongoing. Monday to Friday, no weekends — with start and finish times we work out together
