Role Description The Security Technician is a full-time, on-site role located in Perth, WA, responsible for installing, configuring, maintaining, and repairing commercial electronic security systems. Day-to-day tasks include working with alarm systems, CCTV and video surveillance equipment, access control devices, and related networked components to ensure reliable operation and compliance with client specifications.

The role involves conducting site assessments, diagnosing and resolving technical issues, performing routine inspections, and documenting work performed in accordance with company standards.

Technician collaborates with project managers, engineers, and clients on system commissioning, provides user training on installed equipment, and follows all occupational health and safety requirements while working on client premises.

Qualifications

- Solid technical skills in troubleshooting and diagnostics for electronic security and related systems.
- Knowledge of electronic security principles as they relate to connected security devices and IP-based systems.
- Experience working with alarm systems, CCTV, access control, and other commercial electronic security solutions.
- Understanding of occupational health and safety practices, including safe work procedures for in office installations and maintenance.
- Relevant trade qualification, technical certificate, or equivalent experience in electronics, communications, or security systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and product documentation.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to client sites within the Perth metropolitan area.
- Effective communication skills, reliability, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- WA Manual Drivers licence preferred
