About the opportunity

Kuubiik is recruiting a Senior Accountant on behalf of an established accounting and advisory firm in Brisbane.

This position offers a combination of management accounting and tax advisory work. The successful candidate will take responsibility for several key clients, acting as their internal management accountant while also supporting the wider division’s tax advisory clients.

The role would suit an accountant who has solid month-end reporting experience and wants to retain exposure to taxation and broader client advisory work.

Key responsibilities

- Prepare payroll, including deductions, redundancies and PAYG withholding declarations for large withholders.
- Complete month-end accounting processes, including depreciation, prepayments, accruals and intergroup invoices.
- Prepare supporting workpapers and reconcile balance-sheet and general-ledger accounts.
- Prepare Business Activity Statements and payroll tax returns.
- Manage the collection of financial information from clients.
- Respond to client queries and deliver accurate month-end accounts.
- Build effective relationships with clients and understand their reporting requirements.
- Support tax advisory clients across the wider Private Business and Family Advisory division.
- Work autonomously while collaborating with managers, partners and the broader accounting team.

Skills and experience

- A Business or Commerce degree with a major in Accounting.
- Completed or currently completing a CA or CPA qualification.
- Approximately three to five years’ experience in skilled services.
- Strong month-end accounting and financial-reporting skills.
- Practical payroll,



PAYG withholding, BAS and payroll tax experience.
- Experience completing account reconciliations, accruals, prepayments and depreciation calculations.
- Ability to work autonomously and take ownership of client deliverables.
- Robust analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and time-management ability.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to understand client requirements and tailor the service provided.
- Experience using common accounting platforms such as Xero, QuickBooks or NetSuite.
- Ability to manage deadlines and work effectively under pressure.
