Brief Description The position

This pivotal role involves architecting, designing, and building robust, scalable automation platforms and tools. You'll apply advanced software development principles to embed quality, performance, and reliability, ensuring exceptional customer experiences. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will evolve our automation frameworks, implement technical strategies, and establish best practices. You'll also provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members

Your Role

Key Responsibilities

- Lead architectural design and evolution of scalable automation frameworks.

- Drive adoption of current automation technologies and methodologies.

- Develop and optimise highly reliable UI (Playwright, Cypress) and API automation components.

- Architect and implement end-to-end automation pipelines within CI/CD (Bamboo, GitLab, Bitbucket).

- Establish and enforce coding standards, design patterns, and architectural principles for automation.

- Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and knowledge sharing.

- Research and integrate emerging technologies like AI/ML to optimise automation.

- Ensure operational stability of automation systems; support overnight/weekend deployments.

What Experience You’ll Bring

- Minimum 5 years' experience as a Senior Automation Analyst, Senior Software Developer, or Automation Specialist.

- Deep understanding of software development principles and architectural patterns.

- Expert proficiency in Java, C#, Python, or JavaScript/TypeScript.

- Expert-level proficiency with contemporary UI automation frameworks (e.g., Playwright, Cypress).

- Solid understanding of REST API development and testing.

- Experience designing and deploying robust software systems and custom automation frameworks.

- Extensive knowledge of CI/CD platforms (Bamboo, Bitbucket, GitLab) and version control.

- Proven technical leadership,

- Degree in Information Technology or equivalent experience.

Highly Desirable

- Experience with both UI automation and API/unit testing frameworks.

- Practical experience designing and implementing advanced CI/CD pipelines and IaC.

- Hands-on experience with cloud-native automation solutions (AWS/Azure/GCP, Kubernetes).

- Background in financial services.

Location

This role is available at any of our Brisbane and Sunshine Coast locations providing flexibility to choose the office that suits you. Our Toowong office is close to the city with easy public transport and parking options while our North Lakes offices are within walking distance of some of the north side’s best retail locations. If you love a view of the water, why not consider our Kawana office on the edge of Lake Kawana and only a five minute drive to the closest beach.
