Crane Operator

to join our Glendenning (2761) operations team.

About the Role This is a hands-on role within our busy steel yard and dispatch environment. You’ll be responsible for safely operating our 6-direction overhead crane to move, load and unload structural steel and building materials, ensuring orders are handled efficiently and ready for dispatch.

Successful candidates will undergo formal training to operate the crane; however, previous experience is highly regarded.

Key Responsibilities

Safely operating overhead cranes to move and position structural steel and building materials

Loading and unloading trucks using cranes and other yard equipment





Preparing and positioning steel orders for dispatch

Ensuring materials are handled safely to prevent damage

Assisting with general yard and warehouse duties as required

Maintaining a clean, compliant and organised worksite

Following all safety procedures and site requirements

Supporting the wider operations and dispatch team as required

Essential Requirements

Previous crane operating experience – Desirable

Relevant crane licence/ticket – Desirable

Current

Driver’s Licence – Essential

Minimum

1 years’ experience in a similar steel yard, warehouse or manufacturing setting

Experience handling structural steel or long/heavy materials highly regarded

Strong safety awareness and attention to detail

Physically fit and comfortable working in a busy yard environment

Reliable, punctual and team-oriented
