Senior Legal Counsel – Telecommunications & Infrastructure

Our client, a leading global telecommunications and infrastructure company, is seeking an experienced Senior Legal Counsel for an initial 6- to 12-month contract, with strong potential to transition into a permanent role. The position will provide specialist legal support across complex telecommunications network and infrastructure matters, including negotiating critical agreements, managing legal and commercial risks, and advising on major network projects. The role is expected to commence ASAP and will be based in Sydney, with Melbourne also considered.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide specialist legal advice on telecommunications networks and infrastructure matters.
- Draft, review and negotiate complex network, infrastructure, access and service agreements.
- Support network rollout, operation, maintenance, upgrade and infrastructure-sharing projects.
- Advise on regulatory, property, construction and commercial risks affecting network infrastructure.
- Partner with engineering, network, procurement, commercial and operational teams.
- Manage contractual issues, project variations, disputes and supplier performance.
- Deliver practical, commercially focused advice to senior stakeholders.
- Manage external counsel and develop relevant templates, precedents and playbooks.

About You





- A minimum of 7+ years post-qualification experience in telecommunications networks and infrastructure law.
- Proven expertise in negotiating complex network, access, infrastructure-sharing and service agreements.
- Robust understanding of network rollout, operations, maintenance and upgrade projects.
- A commercial, pragmatic and solutions-focused legal approach.
- Excellent negotiation, communication and stakeholder-management skills.
- Australian telecommunications experience is highly desirable.
