The role You’ll work alongside our Marketing Manager, taking ownership of the day-to-day social and content output across our event and brand portfolio. We have an enormous archive of aerial footage, GoPro and event coverage that grows by the month. We’re looking for someone to help turn that archive, and everything we shoot at each show, into a steady stream of engaging content.
Two days per week to start, with scope to increase as our event calendar grows. Airshow weeks are different, and we want to be upfront about it. In the one to two weeks before an event you’ll be working much closer to full-time hours, and you’ll be on site with us for most of the shows themselves. This usually means a working weekend, occasionally interstate. Those weeks are the busiest and best part of the job, and they are non-negotiable. If you’re unable to commit to them, this isn’t the right role.
What you’ll be doing
Cutting short-form and long-form video – Reels, TikToks and YouTube – from our enormous footage library and from live event coverage
Writing captions and short copy in each event’s brand voice
Scheduling and publishing across our accounts (Meta, TikTok, YouTube)
Community management – replying to comments and DMs, flagging anything that needs escalation
Building and sending email newsletters from supplied copy and assets
Producing graphics and social tiles in Canva, Affinity or Adobe from existing brand kits
Capturing photo and video content on the ground at our events – behind the scenes, crowd, aircraft and pilots
Room to grow and get hands-on with the whole marketing mix This is primarily a production, content and social media role. Key visual design, brand development, website development and paid media sit with our Marketing Manager - you won’t be dropped in the deep end on day one. You’ll learn about them, have input on our campaigns, and the room to grow into them.
Who we’re looking for Essential
You can edit engaging video content to a publishable standard – Premiere, Final Cut, CapCut, DaVinci, whatever you use
You can write clear, punchy copy and captions, and understand when and how to shift tone between brands
You’re organised and you finish things without being chased
You’re comfortable working to a plan,
and you speak up when something isn’t clear
Driver’s licence, and you’re available for weekend and interstate travel to events
Nice to have
Canva or competent graphic design skills are highly regarded
Experience with Meta Business Suite, Mailchimp, Wordpress CMS, Google Ads, Meta Ads or similar platforms
Competency in capturing photography and videography for social content
An interest in aviation – it helps but it is genuinely not required. We can teach you the difference between an F4U and an FB.11
We're open to recent graduates and students. We're more interested in what you can make than how long you've been making it.
What we offer
Direct mentoring from our Marketing Manager, who runs the whole portfolio – you’ll see how a campaign works end to end, not just your slice of it
Hands-on with an archive of aerial, cockpit and event footage that most content people never get near
Real ownership, quickly. Our non-airshow brands can become yours to run
Room to grow into paid digital media, offline marketing, brand development and beyond
A supportive small team based at Maitland Airport, Rutherford
Work across a national airshow calendar, on the ground, with some of the best pilots in the world and some of the most iconic aircraft ever flown
