Senior Environmental Advisor

- Location: Perth, WA (Hybrid - 1 day/week travel to regional site locations)

- Contract Duration: 5-Month Initial Contract

- Pay Rate: $99.00 per hour Super

- Work Hours: Full-time (37.5 hours/week)

- Start Date: Immediate / ASAP

About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Senior Environmental Advisor to support critical contaminated sites and remediation activities. Joining a dedicated People, Safety, and Environment team, you will play a pivotal role in delivering environmental compliance, supporting a 5-year contaminated sites plan, and guiding long-term waste management strategies.

This role is based in Perth with a regular site presence (1 day per week travelling to key operational sites in Pinjar, Cockburn, or Muja).

Key Responsibilities

- Contaminated Sites & Remediation: Guide the design, assessment, and execution of contaminated site investigations and remediation projects to ensure legal and corporate compliance.

- Regulatory Compliance: Drive adherence to the Contaminated Sites Act 2003 and relevant WA environmental guidelines.

- Stakeholder & Contractor Management: Prepare tender documents, review consultant reports/proposals, and manage key relationships with internal teams, external contractors, and regulators.

- Waste & Strategy Support: Provide expert technical advice on material reuse (demolition site materials), waste classification,



and alignment with the Waste Avoidance and Resource Recovery Strategy 2030.

- Risk & Reporting: Conduct environmental audits, contribute to HSE risk assessments, and prepare reporting documentation.

About You To be successful in this position, you will demonstrate:

- Experience: 5 to 10 years of hands-on experience in the design and implementation of contaminated site assessments and remediation projects.

- Qualifications: Tertiary degree in Environmental Management, Physical Science, or a related discipline.

- Skills: Excellent stakeholder management abilities with strong written and verbal communication skills.

- Autonomy: Ability to work independently while managing competing project deliverable across hybrid office and site environments.

- Domain Knowledge: Solid working knowledge of WA environmental legislation, risk assessment, and waste management principles.

- Contract/approvals management, water quality monitoring, or closure planning experience is highly regarded.
