Senior SHEQ Advisor | QLD | Major Civil Infrastructure Contractor

$150,000 – $170,000 + Vehicle Allowance + Employee Benefits | East Coast Travel Required An chance is available for an experienced Senior SHEQ Advisor to join a major civil infrastructure contractor based in Brisbane.

Working across complex civil, pipeline and infrastructure projects throughout the East Coast, this position will provide senior-level SHEQ support across both project and operational teams.

The Role

Reporting to the SHEQ Manager, you will take a hands-on role across Safety, Health, Environment and Quality, working closely with project teams to maintain high standards of compliance while continuing to improve systems and safety performance.

The position will combine head office responsibilities with regular project and site engagement across the East Coast.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide practical SHEQ leadership and advice across multiple infrastructure projects
- Support the implementation and continual improvement of integrated SHEQ management systems
- Conduct site inspections, audits and compliance reviews
- Lead and support incident investigations and corrective actions
- Ensure compliance with WHS legislation, environmental requirements and relevant ISO standards
- Support environmental and sustainability initiatives across projects




- Maintain and improve quality assurance processes and systems
- Deliver SHEQ training, coaching and mentoring to project teams
- Work closely with operational leaders to identify risks and drive continuous improvement
- Assist with SHEQ reporting, governance and performance monitoring

You will ideally bring:

- Minimum 5 years' experience in a senior Safety/SHEQ position
- Strong civil construction or infrastructure experience
- Exposure to pipelines, utilities, trenchless construction or major civil projects would be advantageous
- Strong knowledge of WHS legislation and compliance requirements
- Experience with environmental and quality management systems
- Knowledge of ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and ISO 9001
- Strong incident investigation and auditing capability
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to influence, coach and build strong relationships with project teams
- Willingness to travel across East Coast project locations as required

Essential Qualifications

- Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety
- Current Australian Driver Licence
- Construction White Card
- Current First Aid Certificate
