About the role

Responsible for supporting and continually improving Supagas’ Health, Safety & Environmental and (HSE) performance across WA branches, depots and Agents. The position promotes a proactive safety culture, ensures compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements, supports the Integrated Management System (IMS), ensures compliance to the ISO 9001 accreditation and provides guidance to employees and contractors to achieve the highest standards of safety, quality and environmental performance.

The position is predominantly based out of Kwinana but involves weekly travels to other Perth branches in Welshpool and Beckenham. Travel requirements to WA Regional Branches and Supagas HO (Sydney) as required, expect around 12-15days travel pa.

Key Responsibilities

- Maintain a high standard of HSE performance through the development, administration, facilitation and evaluation of training, awareness and improvement programs.
- Proactively analyse preventative HSE KPIs and other performance data to identify trends, risks and opportunities for improvement.
- Maintain a strong understanding of the Integrated Management System (IMS) and ensure personnel are appropriately trained and comply with its requirements.
- Assist with the development,



review and standardisation of HSE policies, procedures, work permits, documentation and processes.
- Support the integration, ongoing development of third-party certifications, including ISO 9001.
- Encourage and support the reporting of hazards, risks, incidents, near misses and accidents, fostering a positive and proactive safety culture.
- Provide safety leadership and actively influence positive behavioural change through the application of behavioural-based safety principles.
- Be able to mentor and interface with branch teams on continual improvement philosophies that support the framework of Plan Do Check Act (PDCA)
- Understand and apply the Supagas Critical Risks, Controls and Enablers outlined in the Critical Risk Handbook and ensure these requirements are incorporated into operational activities.
- Ensure Management of Change (MOC) processes are undertaken whenever changes are made to plant, equipment, processes or other relevant operational activities, in accordance with the IMS.
- Identify emerging risks and support the implementation of preventative and corrective controls.
- Incident Management and Corrective Actions




- Participate in and provide consultative support for investigations into HSE incidents and near misses across Supagas WA branches, or as directed by the National HSE Manager.

About You

- Degree, Diploma or Cert IV in Occupational Health and Safety, or with significant experience in a similar role, preferably within a manufacturing or transport environment
- Auditor training / ISO9001
- Minimum of 5 years experience in an HSE role
- Experience with internal auditing programs and influencing change
- Experience with Team Based Risk Assessment/ Root Cause Analysis/5 Why’s workshops
- Incident Investigation experience, ICAM training is desirable
- Able to communicate with people across all levels.
- Sound knowledge of current legislation, industry standards and codes and ability to apply this knowledge in the workplace.
- Be results oriented with a robust attention to detail and be self-motivated and be able to manage priorities while working in one state
