Primary objective
Manage and lead the delivery of Arts NT's core arts grants and sector development programs to achieve agreed Northern Territory
Government arts and cultural development priorities. Provide strategic leadership, management, direction and advice to the
Director on program development, implementation, monitoring and evaluationand lead the Arts Development Team and develop and deliver sector development initiatives, including Arts NT's annual two-day arts conference.

Arts NT operates in a dynamic, cross-government and multi-stakeholder setting. The role requires strong leadership, sound governance and a collaborative,
solutions-focused approach to delivering high-quality outcomes for the arts sector.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Lead and manage the delivery of Arts NT’s core grants and sector development programs, ensuring effective governance,
administration and alignment with Northern Territory Government arts and cultural priorities.
1. Monitor, evaluate and report on program delivery, investment and outcomes, including funded organisations and activities,
to support accountability, continuous improvement and achievement of strategic objectives.
1. Lead and manage the Arts Development Team, providing effective workforce, financial and resource management to
maintain a high-performing, positive and collaborative work unit.
1. Build and maintain productive relationships and cross-sector collaboration with artists, arts organisations, communities,
Territory and Commonwealth agencies and other key stakeholders to strengthen arts and cultural development across the Northern Territory.
1. Lead the planning and delivery of key sector development and engagement initiatives, including the annual two-day arts
conference, grants information sessions and targeted sector consultations. 6. Provide high-level advice and support to the Director on grants and program performance, budgets, emerging sector issues,
risks and opportunities,
and contribute to Arts NT planning, reporting and implementation of arts and cultural strategies.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal), with the ability to provide well-informed,
accountable recommendations to senior management.
1. Strong collaboration skills, with a proven ability to build and maintain effective, respectful working relationships with
colleagues and a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
1. Demonstrated senior leadership and organisational capability, including managing teams, programs, resources and competing
priorities to deliver high-quality outcomes within required timeframes.
1. Demonstrated experience in managing significant program budgets and public funding, with strong financial management,
governance, risk management and accountability.
1. Demonstrated expertise in research, analysis, issue evaluation, and problem-solving, including the preparation of accurate
and well-structured reports on complex or sensitive matters.
1. Proven ability to manage competing priorities, work effectively under pressure, and meet deadlines without compromising
on quality or attention to detail.
Desirable
1. Tertiary qualifications in an arts, business, or related discipline.
2. Sound understanding of the operational needs, capabilities, and environments of both government and community-based
organisations, including those in the arts, culture, and creative industries sectors.
Further information
This position may require travel to regional and remote Northern Territory and occasional work outside of business hours.
