Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Modeller to join our team on a 12 month contract, in our Adelaide studio!

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the creation of high-quality 3D assets that meet the creative vision and technical requirements of productions, consistently delivering work to the highest artistic and production standards.
- Collaborate closely with Supervisors, Artists and cross-functional departments to develop efficient, production-ready assets that integrate seamlessly throughout the VFX pipeline.
- Drive modelling best practices, ensuring assets are optimised for rigging, look development, rendering and downstream workflows.
- Contribute to creative and technical problem-solving, proactively identifying solutions that enhance quality, efficiency and project outcomes.
- Mentor and support junior artists, fostering skill development, knowledge sharing and a culture of continuous improvement.
- Partner with department leadership to refine workflows, improve production processes and identify opportunities for greater efficiency and scalability.
- Take ownership of workload planning, delivery and communication, ensuring deadlines, quality expectations and production priorities are consistently met.

Skills and Experience

- Significant experience in a senior modelling role within VFX, animation, games or a related CG production environment.
- Expert proficiency in Autodesk Maya, with advanced modelling and asset development capabilities.
- Robust understanding of topology, UV layout, asset optimisation and modelling requirements for rigging and look development.
- Advanced knowledge of industry-standard modelling and sculpting tools, including ZBrush, Mudbox, UVLayout and TopoGun.
- Solid understanding of rendering, compositing and related production tools, including working knowledge of Nuke.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot technical challenges and develop practical, production-focused solutions.
- Exceptional artistic judgement, attention to detail and understanding of form, shape and visual aesthetics.
- Strong communication, collaboration and organisational skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams and disciplines.
- Experience working within Linux-based production environments and familiarity with command-line workflows.
