At TAL, our Individual Life team helps protect the choices, options and freedoms that matter most to Australians. As a Senior Underwriter, you'll play a key role in balancing customer outcomes with sound risk management, applying your expertise to support TAL's underwriting philosophy and long-term profitability. Working closely with internal teams, financial advisers, reinsurers and health specialists, you'll assess risk, make informed underwriting decisions and contribute to delivering exceptional customer and adviser experiences across our Retail Underwriting business.
In this role you will:
- Assess life insurance applications and deliver quality underwriting decisions that balance customer needs and risk outcomes.
- Manage underwriting workloads efficiently to achieve service standards, turnaround times and productivity targets.
- Resolve adviser enquiries, escalations and complaints to deliver positive customer and partner experiences.
- Build robust relationships with advisers, customers and stakeholders to support effective decision-making and service delivery.
- Apply sound commercial judgement to maintain a profitable and sustainable risk portfolio.
- Identify opportunities to improve underwriting processes, enhance efficiency and strengthen customer outcomes.
