The company is a well-established private construction contractor based in New South Wales. We deliver multi-residential apartment and housing development projects across metropolitan Sydney. Our business covers full-scope construction delivery including site supervision, subcontractor management, cost scheduling, quality assurance and WHS compliance for residential building developments. We are seeking a skilled Civil Engineering Technician to join our growing project team.
Position Overview
As an important role, the Civil Engineering Technician will provide technical support for our multi-residential building projects. You will perform site inspections, material testing, prepare technical documentation, compile engineering data and assist with cost estimation and quality control activities on-site and in-office.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist engineers with technical tasks for multi-residential building projects, prepare sketches, tabulations, basic technical drawings and as-built documentation
- Conduct site inspections, collect and process field data, carry out construction material and soil testing on building sites
- Compile test results, generate technical reports,
maintain project technical records and compliance documentation
- Assist in cost estimating, quantity take-offs and review project specifications against construction progress
- Monitor construction works to ensure compliance with design drawings, project specifications and WHS requirements
- Liaise with site supervisors, subcontractors and engineering team and so on to resolve on-site technical issues
- Perform site measurements, assist with quality control checks and support project delivery schedules
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years relevant working experience as Civil Engineering Technician or equivalent technical role supporting civil / building construction projects
- Hands-on experience with construction material testing, site data collection and technical report preparation
- Competent with CAD software and standard MS Office suite for technical documentation
- Valuable verbal and written English communication, ability to liaise across multi-disciplinary project teams
- Ability to work both in office and on active building construction sites
