An exciting opportunity exists for an Allied Health Care Coordinator (Level 3) with the Aboriginal Care Coordination Team (ACCT) at Sydney Children’s Hospital Randwick. This is a temporary full-time position ending 30th June 2027.

The Allied Health Care Coordinator works closely with the Aboriginal Health Directorate to ensure Aboriginal staff are supported in their cultural wellbeing and professional development. As an Aboriginal employee being part of a specific Aboriginal program, you will have access to Cultural Supervision and through the Directorate be connected to the larger Aboriginal workforce.

The primary focus of this position is for Aboriginal children and families to have access to high quality, evidence based and culturally‑safe community services to support optimal health, development and wellbeing. This role will work as a Care Coordinator in the Community Child Health team with Aboriginal children and their families to manage their chronic conditions and link them into primary health care services. The Community Child Health team offers comprehensive and accessible services, programs, and advocacy for Aboriginal children and their families in the La Perouse community plus further beyond The Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network. The role will work as part of a multidisciplinary team. The role includes clinical supervision with opportunities for further education and training. The role will work very closely with other members of the Aboriginal Chronic Care Team (ACCT) and the La Perouse Family Support Team (FST), which is based with the Community Child Health team. The role is a joint initiative between The Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network (SCHN) and Central and Eastern Sydney Primary Health Network (CESPHN) to increase care in the community for Aboriginal children.

- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant health‑related discipline that meets the eligibility for State Award, current registration with skilled body (e.g AHPRA or eligibility to equivalent peak professional body) with demonstrated clinical experience in relevant Allied Health practice with families and children and/or in health context.
- Demonstrated substantial post graduate experience in Allied Health/Care Coordination practice with children and their families, along with experience working with Aboriginal families, encompassing a broad range of evidence-based interventions/modalities. This includes significant experience in clinical supervision, crisis intervention, case management, counselling, and group work.
- Knowledge of the psycho‑social challenges facing Aboriginal families in the relevant clinical area and a sound knowledge of relevant community resources and support services available to the children and families.
- Excellent demonstrated interpersonal and written communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated advanced reasoning skills and can operate autonomously with minimum direct clinical supervision. This includes the ability to apply professional knowledge and judgement when performing novel, complex or critical tasks specific to their discipline.
- Demonstrated skills and experience in clinical supervision, professional education activities, service planning, and quality improvement activities.
- Competent computer skills and ability to adapt to new IT systems and current unrestricted NSW Drivers License (Class C or equivalent)
