Senior Medical Receptionist Full Time/Part Time/Casual positions – Beenleigh Mall Medical Centre / Springwood Mall Medical Centre

Beenleigh Mall Medical centre is conveniently located on level 1 in The Mall Beenleigh, with ample parking and easy access to public transport (5mins walk from Beenleigh train station). The medical centre was established in 2016 and has been providing medical care to the local community.

Springwood Mall Medical Centre is a medical centre located across from the pharmacy on the ground floor in Springwood Mall. The medical centre opened its door in May 2023. Doctors located in Springwood Mall Medical Centre are dedicated to provide medical service to the local community of Springwood and surrounding suburbs of Underwood, Rochedale South and Daisy Hill.

About the Role

We are seeking experienced and professional Senior Medical Receptionist to join our two Medical Centres.

This is an excellent opportunity for a confident, organised and patient-focused receptionist who enjoys working in a rapid-paced healthcare environment and supporting both patients and clinical staff.

As a senior member of the reception team, you will play an important role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the front desk while providing a high standard of patient service.

Key Responsibilities

- Welcoming patients and providing professional, friendly service
- Managing patient appointments, bookings, cancellations and recalls
- Answering telephone enquiries and responding to patient requests
- Processing payments, Medicare and private billing
- Maintaining accurate and confidential patient records
- Liaising with doctors, nurses, allied health professionals and external providers
- Assisting with day-to-day administration and reception operations




- Supporting and mentoring junior reception staff
- Managing difficult or sensitive patient enquiries professionally
- Ensuring reception and waiting areas are organised and welcoming
- Following medical centre policies, privacy requirements and procedures
- Assisting with opening/closing procedures and general administrative duties

About You

The successful candidate will have:
- Previous experience in a medical reception or healthcare administration role
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and medical practice procedures
- Experience with Medicare and medical billing
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organisational and time-management abilities
- A professional, calm and friendly manner
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- The ability to prioritise tasks in a busy environment
- Confidence dealing with patients, doctors and other healthcare professionals
- Experience supporting or mentoring other reception staff
- A strong understanding of patient confidentiality and privacy requirements
- Experience with medical practice software such as Best Practice, Medical Director or similar is highly desirable
