About the role The Senior Project Manager Capital Projects is responsible for managing the delivery of a diverse and complex range of capital projects and programs across the organisation, from initiation through to handover, within the PMBoK Project Management Framework.

On a daily basis you will:

- Manage the delivery of a significant volume of capital projects and programs of varying size, complexity and sensitivity, from initiation through to operational handover.
- Oversee key project activities including client liaison, surveys, design, costing, consultation, procurement and tendering, construction, defect remediation and project review.
- Lead and coordinate multi-disciplinary project teams, including project managers, designers, consultants and contractors.
- Build and maintain strong internal and external stakeholder relationships to support high levels of engagement, communication and satisfaction.
- Provide advice and support to stakeholders in planning and delivering their annual capital works programs, including developing project briefs, sourcing funding and implementing project plans.

This position may attract a Civil Liability allowance (3.5%) in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award 2026.





Participation in Council’s Motor Vehicle Scheme may be available for this role and will be discussed with the successful candidate.

About you To be successful in this role, you will bring strong project management experience and the ability to manage complex capital projects from planning through to delivery. You will be a confident communicator and problem solver, with the technical knowledge, stakeholder management skills and commercial awareness needed to work effectively across a diverse project environment.

You will also bring

- Extensive demonstrated experience managing a wide range of projects and programs, including contract administration, tendering, procurement and delivery.
- Proven ability to prepare tender and contract documentation, progress projects through procurement processes, and resolve complex project management and contractual issues.
- Strong negotiation and mediation skills, with the ability to work effectively with external organisations, government agencies and the community.
- Experience contributing to project teams and interpreting project briefs, plans and client requirements to support successful project outcomes.
- Excellent report writing, budgeting, financial management and problem-solving skills.

- Recognised degree qualifications in Project Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Construction Management or other related discipline.
- Class ‘C’ Driver’s Licence
