Major Healthcare Project An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Senior Project Manager to join a leading mechanical contractor and take a key role in the delivery of a major healthcare project in Melbourne.
The business has a long-standing presence within the Victorian mechanical market and a strong track record delivering large-scale HVAC projects across healthcare, commercial, infrastructure and other technically complex environments.
With a strong pipeline of major projects across Melbourne, they are now looking to appoint an experienced Senior Project Manager to join their delivery team.
The Role
As Senior Project Manager, you will take ownership of the mechanical delivery of a major healthcare project, working closely with the Construction Manager, engineering teams, site management, subcontractors and the wider project team.
Healthcare projects bring a high level of technical complexity, coordination and programme pressure, so they are looking for someone who can take control of the project, lead their team and drive successful delivery from both an operational and commercial perspective.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the mechanical delivery of a major healthcare project
- Manage Project Engineers, Site Managers and wider delivery teams
- Drive project programme, procurement and construction activities
- Take ownership of project financials, forecasting and commercial performance
- Manage subcontractors and suppliers
- Maintain strong relationships with the builder, consultants and client
- Identify and manage project risks throughout delivery
- Oversee design coordination and technical project requirements
- Drive safety, quality and programme outcomes
- Report into senior management on project performance and delivery
About You
- Strong background within the mechanical/HVAC contracting industry
- Proven experience operating at Project Manager or Senior Project Manager level
- Experience delivering large-scale mechanical packages
- Strong commercial and contractual understanding
- Confident managing engineers, site teams and subcontractors
- Excellent client and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to take ownership and drive a major project through to completion
Previous healthcare experience would be highly advantageous due to the technical nature of the project. However, candidates with solid major project experience across other complex sectors will also be considered.
