Our client is a growing boutique commercial law firm seeking an experienced Senior Associate to join its Melbourne practice.

This is an opportunity for an experienced property lawyer looking for greater autonomy, direct client relationships and the opportunity to take a senior role within a growing Property practice.

Working closely with the Principal, you'll manage a broad portfolio of property matters including acquisitions and disposals, commercial property transactions, developments, leasing and complex conveyancing matters. You'll also work with a diverse client base including property developers, investors, business owners and international purchasers.

The role will suit an experienced lawyer who is comfortable managing matters independently while also providing technical guidance and mentoring to junior lawyers and paralegals.

What You'll Do
- Manage a broad portfolio of property matters from initial instructions through to completion, including residential and commercial acquisitions and disposals, property developments, off-the-plan transactions, subdivisions and other complex property transactions.
- Draft, review and negotiate property documentation including Contracts of Sale, Section 32 Vendor Statements, commercial and retail leases, development-related agreements and other transactional documentation.
- Advise clients on commercial and retail leasing matters, including the preparation and negotiation of leases, agreements for lease, renewals, variations, assignments and associated documentation.




- Manage complex conveyancing and property transactions while supervising the procedural and settlement components undertaken by junior lawyers, paralegals and conveyancing staff.
- Work directly with developers, investors, business owners and international purchasers, providing practical and commercially focused advice throughout the lifecycle of their property transactions.
- Advise international clients on Australian property transactions and work alongside the broader team on foreign investment and FIRB-related matters where required.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior lawyers and paralegals by delegating work, reviewing documentation and supporting their ongoing professional development.
- Contribute to the continued development of the Property practice through strong client relationships, referral networks and identification of opportunities for additional work.

What You'll Bring
- 4–5+ years' PQE with strong experience in Property Law.
- Demonstrated experience managing property transactions with a high degree of autonomy.
- Solid experience in acquisitions and disposals, commercial property and leasing.
- Property development, subdivision or off-the-plan experience will be highly regarded.
- Excellent drafting, negotiation and client relationship skills.
- Strong commercial judgement and a practical approach to legal advice.
- Experience supervising or mentoring junior lawyers or paralegals will be advantageous.
- Experience with international purchasers or FIRB matters would also be advantageous.
