Are you an experienced Radiochemist or Radiopharmaceutical Scientist looking to play a pivotal role in the development of next-generation cancer therapies?

Our client is an creative and rapidly growing radiopharmaceutical company based in Brisbane, focused on developing and manufacturing novel targeted alpha therapies aimed at significantly improving patient outcomes. As they continue to expand their R&D; capabilities, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Radiochemist to join their Technical Development team and contribute to the advancement of cutting-edge radiopharmaceutical products from early development through to clinical application.

About the Role

Reporting to the Associate Director, you will be responsible for leading and executing radiolabelling and formulation development activities for radiopharmaceutical drug products.

This is a highly technical, hands-on role suited to an scientist with expertise in radiochemistry, process development, optimisation and/or scale-up. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams across Drug Discovery, Preclinical, Manufacturing, Quality and Clinical functions to support the progression of products through development.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and execute radiolabelling and process development studies.
- Develop and optimise radiopharmaceutical manufacturing processes.
- Investigate critical process parameters including activity, concentration, pH, reaction conditions, formulation composition and stability.
- Conduct process optimisation,



characterisation and scale-up activities.
- Troubleshoot radiochemistry and formulation challenges and provide scientifically driven solutions.
- Support preclinical programs through preparation and development of radiolabelled materials.
- Generate technical reports, protocols and development documentation.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior scientists and radiochemists.

Skills & Experience To be successful, you will possess:

- PhD in Radiochemistry, Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biochemistry or related
- Experience in radiochemistry and/or radiopharmaceutical development.
- Strong hands-on expertise in radiolabelling and radiopharmaceutical process development.
- Experience with radio-HPLC, radio-TLC and radiochemical characterisation techniques.
- Experience with formulation development, process optimisation and troubleshooting.
- Strong experimental design, problem-solving and technical documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within cross-functional teams.

Highly Desirable

- Experience with therapeutic radionuclides,
- Experience with radiopharmaceuticals/ radiometals
- Experience using automated radiolabelling platforms such as Trasis.
- Experience supporting preclinical radiopharmaceutical studies.




- Leadership or mentoring experience within a scientific environment.
