The City of Fremantle is currently seeking to appoint experienced, motivated, and enthusiastic Senior Rapid Response Officer to join our Parks and Landscapes Service Team. You will be a passionate team player that has experience leading small teams and can provide great outcomes for our community.

Key Responsibilities

- Undertake reactive and programmed maintenance and high-level inspection, auditing and reporting faults and defects for the City’s parks, gardens and reserves.
- Ensure adequate supervision and direction of assigned parks and landscapes officers.




- Under limited direction manage day-to-day scheduling and maintenance works of Parks Rapid Response operations.
- Implement contractor management techniques and regularly assess contractor performance in accordance with various Parks and Landscape service contracts.
- Operate various hand tools, battery and petrol-powered equipment required for reactive horticultural maintenance and public open space presentation.
- Identify weeds, pests and diseases and use appropriate methods of control via mechanical, cultural and chemical control methods.
- Maintain accurate work records, cost/job sheets, timesheets, and customer request management (CRM) forms for self and others within direct control.

To be considered for this position, you will need

- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Experience in parks and gardens or in a similar environment, including practical experience with horticultural plant and equipment.
- Sound leadership skills, including the ability to lead, motivate and performance manage staff whilst promoting a team ethos.
- Sound knowledge of amenity horticulture, turf, tree and reticulation maintenance practices.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite of applications, and Adobe Suite.




- A qualification in horticultural discipline or related field and /or equivalent experience.
- A current WA ‘C’ class manual driver’s licence and white Card.
- A forklift ticket and MR/HR license is desirable but not essential.
