About the role

Deliver rehabilitation services where they can make the greatest difference, helping older people maintain independence, improve function and remain living safely in their community. Based at the Bribie Island Satellite Health Centre as part of the Healthy Ageing Assessment and Rehabilitation Team (HAART), this position provides advanced Speech Pathology services for older adults with complex and evolving rehabilitation needs.

Working within a multidisciplinary team of medical, nursing and allied health professionals, you will provide high-level assessment, intervention and care planning across a community rehabilitation setting. The role also offers opportunities to contribute to service development, mentor emerging clinicians and support innovative models of care that help people stay well and avoid unnecessary hospital admissions.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

Deliver high-level Speech Pathology services for older adults within a community-based rehabilitation setting, applying advanced clinical reasoning and evidence-based practice.

Manage complex communication and swallowing presentations while providing comprehensive assessment, intervention and care pathway planning.

Work collaboratively with patients, families, carers and multidisciplinary team members to achieve rehabilitation goals and support continued independence in the community.

Provide clinical supervision,



mentoring and education to Speech Pathologists, Allied Health Assistants and students to support workforce capability.

Contribute to service planning, quality improvement, research and innovation activities that strengthen rehabilitation outcomes and service delivery.
