About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Structural Steel Modeler / Project Lead to join our team in Parkdale, VIC.

This is a senior-level position suited to a highly capable structural steel professional with 15+ years of industry experience, robust technical knowledge and proven experience modelling and managing a team.

You will be responsible for producing and coordinating high-quality structural steel models and fabrication documentation, while also managing project delivery and providing leadership to a team of detailers/marking planners and modelers.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and manage detailed 3D structural steel models using Tekla Structures.
- Lead and coordinate a team of structural steel modelers/detailers.
- Plan, manage and monitor projects from modelling through to fabrication documentation and delivery.
- Coordinate structural steel models with engineers, architects, fabricators, builders and other project stakeholders.
- Identify and resolve technical, design and coordination issues.
- Manage project priorities, deadlines and deliverables.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior and intermediate team members.
- Review team members' work and maintain a high standard of modelling and detailing.
- Communicate effectively with clients, consultants, project managers, workshop/fabrication teams including asking and responding to RFIs.
- Ensure projects are delivered efficiently, accurately and within agreed timeframes.
- Contribute to improving modelling, detailing and project management processes.

About You To be successful in this role,



you will have:

- 15+ years' experience in structural steel modelling/detailing, preferably within the Australian steel construction industry.
- Advanced and demonstrated Tekla Structures experience.
- Strong understanding of structural steel fabrication, erection and detailing practices.
- Proven experience leading and project managing a team.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines.
- Excellent attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality.
- Strong understanding of structural steel drawings, engineering documentation and fabrication requirements.
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
- Confidence communicating with clients, engineers, fabricators and internal teams.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work independently while also providing effective leadership to a team.
- A proactive, organised and professional approach to project delivery.
