Position: Cabler

Position Type: Full time

Salary: $80,000 to $85,000 plus superannuation per annum

Our client is seeking is seeking a Cabler to join their team in St Marys, South Australia.

The cabler will focus on the installation, connection, testing and maintenance of telecommunications and data cabling and associated equipment, supporting wider wireless communications and telecommunications projects. They will work alongside existing telecommunications, technical and field personnel to ensure that internal cabling and communications infrastructure is installed safely, accurately and in accordance with project requirements.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

- Installing and configuring telecommunications data cabling as part of telecommunications installation, upgrade and wireless communication projects.
- Installing, connecting and terminating cabling between telecommunications equipment, communications equipment and designated connection points.
- Carrying out internal cabling works within buildings, equipment areas, communications rooms and other customer or project sites.
- Installing and connecting telecommunications and communications equipment and associated cabling in accordance with project drawings, specifications and site requirements.
- Installing, routing, terminating and testing fibre optic and other telecommunications cabling in accordance with project requirements.
- Reviewing project plans, drawings and site conditions to determine appropriate cable routes, equipment locations and connection requirements.
- Preparing cable pathways and arranging cabling to ensure installations are secure, organised, accessible and suitable for ongoing maintenance.




- Testing installed cabling and telecommunications connections and identifying faults or installation issues.
- Undertaking fault finding, repairs and rectification of internal telecommunications cabling and associated equipment.
- Assisting with testing and commissioning of telecommunications installations prior to handover to customers.
- Working with telecommunications and technical teams to coordinate internal cabling requirements with external telecommunications infrastructure and wireless communications equipment.
- Recording installation, testing and rectification activitiesfor project documentation and handover.
- Inspecting completed installations to identify defects and ensuring work is completed to the required quality standard.
- Complying with project specifications, applicable technical standards, workplace procedures and customer requirements.
- Performing other related telecommunications cabling and technical duties consistent with the position and the company's project requirements.

Requirements:

- AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV in relevant field
- At least three (3) years of relevant experience and/or relevant vendor certification may substitute for the formal qualifications listed
- At least three (3) years of relevant experience working in telecommunications cabling, data cabling or a closely related telecommunications trade.
- Ability to work safely and effectively at customer and project sites, either independently or as part of a technical team.
- White card (or ability to obtain one prior to commencing employment).
- Current drivers licence
