About the Program

Join Bravus' 2026/2027 Vacation Student Program and gain practical industry experience across our surface mining operations at our Carmichael mine.

Throughout the program, participants will gain exposure to a diverse range of mining and business functions, including surface operations, maintenance environments, mine planning and operational support. There will also be opportunities to contribute to business improvement initiatives across the site.

Working alongside our experienced site teams, you will build practical, hands-on experience with the equipment, systems and day-to-day operations of a working mine.

This placement is on a remote site with a fly-in fly-out roster and you will be staying in camp accommodation. Successful applicants will be employed casually for a 10 -12 week program starting end of November.

We are ideally looking for students who are currently based in Townsville, Rockhampton or Mackay. Flights are provided from Townsville, Rockhampton or Mackay. Travel from any other location is at the candidate's own arrangement and expense. The fields we are recruiting for in 2026/27 are:

- Mining Engineers
- Civil Engineers
- Mechanical Engineers
- Electrical Engineers
- Surveying

About You

- Currently studying a Bachelor's degree in engineering, surveying or a related discipline




- Successful applicants will be required to obtain a Standard 11 Surface Coal Induction and a Queensland Coal Board Medical, and to complete drug and alcohol screening prior to and during their
placement on site.
- Exceptional communication skills and interpersonal skills
- Willingness to learn
- Solid problem solving skills and analytical ability
