APG Workforce is seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer to join Transport for NSW and lead the RDSS Tunnel Project Team, based at the Tunnel Control Building in Tweed Heads West.

This is a senior project delivery role responsible for the planning and delivery of the tunnel CAPEX program, with projects spanning civil and electrical infrastructure. The successful candidate will oversee project planning, contract administration, delivery schedules, budgets, safety, quality and stakeholder requirements.

About the Role
n As Senior Project Engineer, you will lead and coordinate the delivery of infrastructure projects and contracts, ensuring works are completed safely, on time, within budget and to the required quality and scope.

n

Key responsibilities include:

n

- Lead the RDSS Tunnel Project Team in the development, planning and delivery of the tunnel CAPEX program.
n
- Manage civil and electrical-focused infrastructure projects from planning through to delivery.
n
- Develop detailed project delivery plans, programs and schedules.
n
- Manage project budgets, milestones, risks, quality and scope.
n
- Administer infrastructure contracts and manage contractor and service provider performance.
n
- Develop project briefs and coordinate internal and external service providers.
n
- Review and analyse project information to identify delivery risks and appropriate solutions.
n
- Lead multidisciplinary teams and promote a robust safety-focused culture.
n
- Ensure appropriate WHS and environmental procedures and safeguards are maintained.
n
- Manage stakeholder and customer communications and resolve project delivery issues.
n

Senior Project Engineer – Transport Infrastructure

Location: Tweed Heads West, NSW
n Contract: ASAP – 24 December 2026
n Rate: $900–$1,000 per day + Super
n Hours: 40 hours per week | Maximum 8 hours per day

The position requires strong project governance and the ability to manage multiple projects while achieving required deadlines, standards and budget targets.

About You To be successful, you will have:

n

n
- Minimum 5 years' experience in contract management and administration.
n
- Demonstrated experience in the project management and delivery of road projects.
n
- Strong experience delivering transport or civil infrastructure projects.
n
- Experience with project planning, tendering, procurement and infrastructure contract administration.
n
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
n
- Ability to manage contractors, multidisciplinary teams, budgets, schedules and project risks.
n
- Sound understanding of WHS, environmental, quality and project governance requirements.
n
- Experience within state or local government environments is highly regarded.
n

n

TfNSW also requires a four-year engineering degree from an Australian university or equivalent overseas qualification, along with security and criminal clearance prior to appointment.
